Membership applications are open to all

Our membership year runs from the beginning of March to the end of the following February.
New members must pay the full subscription on joining but those who join in January or February will benefit from a subscription that will run until the end of February the following year. Renewal will be the beginning of March. See below. All memberships include postage of four Mechanical Music World journals (see below) no matter when you join, so if you apply in September, you will still get four journals. |

Mechanical Music World Journal
Members receive quarterly editions of our printed magazine, Mechanical Music World.
This contains a host of articles on a range of topics such as:- auctions, automata, histories, member’s collections, reports on AMBC meetings as well as full details on repairs, restorations and all things musical box related.
Full details of the magazines can be found here. Each page has a précis of the main articles in that issue.
Hard copies of all back editions (except no 2) can be obtained via the Publications page.

Annual Subscription rates 2026
2026 Membership fees and options have been reviewed and subscription rates have changed (September 2025) to take into account increased printing and postal costs.
Joint Membership options are no longer available.
Individual Membership now applies to all persons living at the same address.
UK Membership: £25 to cover all people at the same address.
European Membership: £35 to cover all people at the same address.
Rest of the World Membership: £45 to cover all people at the same address.
The above membership fees just cover the cost of printing and posting the MMW Journal.
We welcome donations, over and above the subscription, in order to finance other activities.

Membership renewal fees are due each year on 1st March - but you can renew, or join, early.
Existing members with a registered email address will be sent an automated reminder in early February.
Those who have not registered their email address can either use the form included with the February copy of Mechanical Music World OR click here, send us an email and, once it's been recorded, we will confirm that you can renew online.
