A rare recording from the archives of the BBC, broadcast on 5th September 1963 and certainly NOT nightmarish in any way. Far too fascinating to be scary.

The Minstrel Boy
This clip is of is a very special musical box from the collection of Walter Behrendt, playing The Minstrel Boy followed by a piano duet of the same tune.
The song is by Thomas Moore with music from an earlier work by Mozart. Apparently Moore Plagiarised a piece of folk music written in the Middle Ages called 'The Moírín' after two Irish Queens who lived in the 10th century. Cantor Wolfgang Heilmann had a new score written for this music in order to directly contrast his interpretation on a piano with the original sound of the cylinder music box.
