Our Editors and publications
The society editors, David & Lesley Evans, are world renowned restorers of musical instruments based in Canada.
They prepare, edit and publish our internationally acclaimed journal MECHANICAL MUSIC WORLD as well as editing and publishing our Society limited edition books. (See Publications).
The Journal is produced four times each year. Each full-colour edition features a wide variety of topics covering all types of self-playing musical instruments, not just musical boxes, player pianos & organs but also musical and non musical automata, gramophones and phonographs.
We include contributions from amateur and professional collectors and restorers of all types of instruments of specific, novel, historic and even modern interest. This includes research, collecting tips, restoration techniques and projects, including those by world-recognised experts in their respective field.
We publish news about Society events (meetings, visits, auctions, etc.), international mechanical music events, collections, museums and other places of interest. When asked we will also publish contributions from other home and overseas mechanical music organisations. (See Diary for up coming events)
For those wishing to make a contribution to the journal or to seek advice (other than valuation) why not contact the editors directly? For those offering items for display on our website, contact the Webmaster Bernard Novell
