AMBC Meetings
Meetings are mainly held in the South East of England, but we are looking for other venues in order to entice members further north to come along. Alongside that, we are now holding joint meetings with MBSGB.
Keep an eye on the Diary page for more information about meetings in 2026.

The 'classroom' at The Old School set up for a show and tell session
The Chanctonbury Ring, named by founder John Mansfield after an ancient hill feature that could be seen from this house, is not what you will find in Wikipedia, but the name given to the circle of people who regularly met at Ted Brown's 'Museum' to share information and enjoy lively discussion.
Unfortunately it is not possible to hold meetings at The Old School at the moment, but meetings are being held, for the time being, at the Coultershaw Heritage Centre, Nr Petworth.
It is hoped to hold meeting at the Old School again in 2026.

Saturday 23rd August 2025 - Show & Tell with members from MBSGB
For the first time in over ten years AMBC held a Show & Tell meeting at Coultershaw with members of MBSGB invited to attend and bring some 'favourite' items to share with everyone. By coincidence, there were seven members from each, so a very even match.
Instruments ranged from an ornate barrel organ, through various tabatières, cartels (some with fat cylinders), an Organina, an Ariosa disc player, musical jugs and collectable 'trinkets'. There was even an 'up cycling' project for good measure. Nomatter what your main interest might be, there was something for everyone which illustrated just how diverse the world of Mechanical Music can be. Of course, there were some terrific stories to tell, and hear, about many of these instruments too.

A perfect day is how our Chairman Ted Brown described it, and who are we to disagree!
